Griffins Give Back

As we prepare for our 40-Year Reunion, we’re continuing the very special tradition of tying in a philanthropy. (The current staff at Los Al High School says our class is unique in doing this and greatly appreciates our generosity.)

Any donations received for our “Griffins Give Back” effort will be used in two ways this time around:

  • Presented to current Los Al Students, in the form of scholarships, who are passionate about pursuing a career in either the automotive field (in memory of two of our classmates who passed since our last reunion—Paul Sullivan and Tim Lanier) or in the arts/entertainment/music (in memory of three of our classmates who passed since our last reunion—Joe Lotts, Elissa Laskin, and Steven Spiller).
  • Depending on how much we raise, the school also has a need for a new drinking fountain. Our first priority will be to fund the scholarships.

With your help, we’ve raised thousands of dollars over the 40-years! As a result of your past generosity, for our 5-year reunion we donated a much needed (and first-ever) computer for the Los Al High School Career Center. In later years we supported a local literacy program, the Los Alamitos Youth Center, a couple of special priority projects at our high school, and for the past three reunions presented monetary scholarships to very deserving current Los Al students, also in memory of our classmates who had passed much too soon.

NOTE: If you'd like to make your donation in honor/memory of a classmate who is no longer with us, please note that on the Classmate Questionnaire. We’ll be sure to note this when presenting the scholarships on campus to the recipients.

Any amount you donate will help make a difference.
